For the 29th consecutive day, Victoria has recorded no new COVID-19 infections, it was revealed on Saturday.

The state’s total number of cases remains at 20,345 and none are active.

There were 9403 tests conducted on Friday, with the total number of tests reaching more than 3,563,000 since they began.

To date, 819 people have died from the virus in Victoria and 19,525 people have recovered.

It comes after Victoria reached the 28-day milestone on Friday.

University of Melbourne head of the Centre for Epidemiology, Professor Tony Blakely, told 3AW earlier this month the working definition of eliminating community transmission was 28 days with no mystery cases.
